Mission

I am setting up this blog for one purpose. I will, over the next weeks and months be writing out stories about my experiences in radio over a 20 year career. These experiences will be used, hopefully, to create a book. The proposed title:

"...and all the records you can eat." or, "20 years in radio and all I have for retirement is this stupid book!"

Coverage will include a history of WBEX, and an overview of where I've been and the people I've met. One of the basic premises of the book will be that local radio, at least in some parts of the country, has died. Taken over by the conglomerates.

Had a part-timer by the name of Jack - can't think of his last name for a moment, who had a high regard for some of the people who worked in local radio. He said, truthfully, that the job wasn't one of the easiest and certainly wasn't one of the highest paid jobs that there was. And that's the truth.

Tonight's job, just getting the blog started is finished. Will get started with the first stories in a matter of days.

See you out there!
